What is EnlightenED?
EnlightenED is a student ambassador community where students collaborate to share ideas, learn from each other, and help shape the future of higher education.
Who can join EnlightenED?
Students enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States (including Puerto Rico) or Canada are eligible to apply. There are no requirements related to major, GPA, or previous experience. If you are curious, motivated, and passionate about improving the student experience, you are a great fit.
What do EnlightenED Student Ambassadors do?
Ambassadors participate in activities that align with their strengths and interests. This may include creating blog posts or digital content, sharing feedback that helps improve Ellucian’s student-facing products, participating in surveys and research projects, and taking advantage of career development opportunities such as interview practice, resume review, and mentoring.
What are the benefits of joining?
EnlightenED offers valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, gain real professional experience, and strengthen confidence in workplace communication. Ambassadors receive career support, including interview preparation and resume feedback, and have the chance to become published bloggers through the Student Voices series. Participants may also earn gift cards, Ellucian swag, digital badges, and micro-credentials. It is a supportive community that helps students grow, connect, and prepare for their next steps.
Is EnlightenED a paid program?
EnlightenED is not a paid job or internship. Instead, ambassadors earn points for their participation and can redeem those points for rewards such as gift cards and Ellucian swag.
How much time does it take?
The EnlightenED community is designed to be flexible. Most ambassador participate for 2-4 hours each month, choosing activities that fit their interests and schedules.
Do I need to attend a school that uses Ellucian technology?
No! Students from any higher education institution in the US or Canada are welcome.
Can I include my EnlightenED experience on my resume or LinkedIn?
Yes, Ambassadors can request a digital badge to add to their LinkedIn profile when they join, and additional badges become available as they complete more activities. Their published work and completed projects can also be added to their resumes and portfolios.
How long can I be an ambassador?
Most students participate for one academic year. Students are welcome to stay in EnlightenED as long as they are current students.
